About Us

The Veterans Memorial Museum (VMM) of RI is a non-profit organization (501-C3). We have many displays of artifacts including some very rare items from the American Revolution to today’s military. We honor the Veterans of Woonsocket in a special room dedicated to those who lived there and fought for our freedoms. The VMM is organized so that you can walk through history, i.e., the American Revolution, Civil war, American Indian War, Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan. The VMM features a library with books that may be taken out on loan. The library also has an on-going display of historic videos and many binders filled with individual stories.

OUR HISTORY

The museum opened on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11th, 2015. Our founder Glenn Dusablon began collecting war artifacts at 9 years old and has dedicated his life to the betterment of our organization. We began with traveling displays until November of 2015 when we expanded to a formal location in partnership with the American French Genealogical Society. Since then we have become one of the foremost organizations for veteran artifacts, with thousands of items on view every week.

We work tirelessly to bring military history to life, serve our veterans, and uplift the community. Thanks to the hard work of our staff and your generous donations we have been able to continue this legacy and make the Veterans Memorial Museum a place of hope and remembrance for all.
